Van de Vyver Art organized its first
exhibition with non-European art in 1974,
in particular with pre-Columbian art from Mexico.
It did not take long before an enthusiastic group of collectors of pre-Columbian art got really inspired
by our art gallery and its activities,
thus establishing our reputation
as a reliable
and trusted antique dealer.
Since then, Van de Vyver Art participated in
several major antique fairs and exhibitions, especially those including non-European art, such as Badnea and Eurantica in Brussels
and the Art- and Antiques Fair of Flanders
in Ghent and Knokke.
Our interest in pre-Columbian art - mainly
from Mexico, but also from other Central-
and South-American countries - kept
growing over the years.
In co-operation with different museums,
Van de Vyver Art participated in the
realisation of a number of remarkable
exhibitions on pre-Columbian art,
including the exhibition
Offerings for a new life, funerary images
from pre-Columbian West Mexico in 1998
in the Ethnographic Museum of Antwerp.
Five years ago, Van de Vyver Art opened a gallery at the Sablon square in Brussels. Our goal is to offer great value for money by selecting only the most beautiful and best quality artefacts at reasonable prices.
The fascinating search for beauty and authenticity
keeps us going. All artefacts
are authenticated by an independent and reputable expert laboratory.
